Alice By the Sea is located on St. John’s quieter east side, minutes past Coral Bay.
Beaches: Simply walk across the street and enjoy Friis Bay or hop in your rental and drive one mile south to enjoy the beautiful white sandy beach at Salt Pond. Francis Bay and Maho Bay – two beautiful North Shore beaches – are 10-15 minutes away by car. Six other famed North Shore beaches are roughly 20-30 minutes away from Alice By the Sea.
Restaurants: Miss Lucy’s, famous for its Full Moon Parties and Sunday Jazz Brunches, is within walking distance. The Tourist Trap is a quick five minute ride south while Coral Bay, which has several dining options, is a quick 5-10 minute ride north. The cafe at Concordia Eco Resort offers brunch (in season) and nightly dinner – Monday open mic night from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is a must!
Shopping: There are several shops in Coral Bay, again only a 5-10 minute ride from Alice By the Sea. Calabash Market is one mile from the house (towards Coral Bay) and is great for fresh fish and meats, groceries beer and wine. Groceries are also available at Dolphin Market located in Cocoloba Plaza and also at Love City Mini Market, which is just beyond town on King Hill Road.
Hiking: There are hiking trails scattered throughout St. John; however one of the best – Ram Head – is located just five minutes up the road at Salt Pond.
Ruins: Little Lameshur Bay is two miles from the house. While this isn’t one is the island’s best ruins, it’s definitely one of the best photo ops! Please note: You must have a 4wd vehicle to visit this ruin. The historic Annaberg Sugar Mill site and Leinster Bay/Waterlemon Cay snorkeling are just 10-15 minutes by car.
